HR Officer – Human Resources Operations

About the role

The HR Officer will join Bridge Connect Africa Initiative in Kano to manage day‑to‑day human resources operations. This full‑time, on‑site position supports the organization’s mission of equitable development across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain HR policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with legal and organizational requirements.
• Handle employee relations, including conflict resolution and staff engagement.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and the creation of clear job descriptions.
• Assist in designing performance‑management frameworks.
• Provide guidance to staff on HR processes and coordinate training activities.
• Promote a positive, inclusive work culture aligned with the NGO’s values.

Required profile

• Strong background in Human Resources and HR Management.
• Experience in HR policy development, job description creation, and employee relations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field (preferred).
• Familiarity with recruitment, onboarding, performance management and labor regulations.
• Excellent communication, confidentiality, and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
• Commitment to gender equality and youth empowerment.
