About the role
We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead the human resources function for our manufacturing facility in Marina, Nigeria. The role will oversee all HR operations, ensuring compliance, employee engagement and effective talent management.
Key responsibilities
- Lead day‑to‑day HR operations of the factory and deliver HR services efficiently.
- Implement, monitor and improve HR policies, procedures and workplace practices.
- Manage end‑to‑end recruitment, selection, onboarding and induction processes.
- Coordinate employee confirmations, transfers, promotions, disciplinary actions, exits and other lifecycle activities.
- Act as primary point of contact for employee relations, resolving issues professionally and fairly.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, Nigerian labour laws, statutory requirements and health & safety regulations.
- Drive performance management, including goal setting, reviews, feedback and development initiatives.
- Maintain accurate employee records, HR documentation and personnel files.
- Support learning and development by identifying training needs and coordinating programmes.
- Monitor attendance, leave administration and workforce discipline.
- Partner with factory management on workforce planning, productivity and operational objectives.
- Prepare periodic HR reports, workforce analytics and management updates.
- Promote employee engagement initiatives and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
- Support payroll preparation by ensuring accurate HR‑related data.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Psychology or related field.
- Professional HR certification (CIPM, SHRM, HRCI or equivalent) is an advantage.
- 4–5 years progressive HR experience, with at least 2–3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Experience in manufacturing, production, FMCG or factory environments, preferably managing a blue‑collar workforce.
- Strong knowledge of recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management and HR operations.
- Good understanding of Nigerian labour laws and HR compliance requirements.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong conflict resolution, negotiation and problem‑solving abilities.
