Compensation & Benefits Analyst

About the role

The Compensation & Benefits Analyst will support both internal staff and external client accounts by designing, evaluating and maintaining competitive total rewards programs. You will conduct market research, model pay structures and ensure compliance with Nigerian labour regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct salary benchmarking, market research and compensation surveys to assess internal equity and external competitiveness.
• Design, model and refine base pay structures, salary bands, variable incentive plans and commission models for internal roles and client requests.
• Perform job evaluations and grade positioning analyses to maintain consistent job architecture and pay transparency.
• Manage and optimise employee benefits schemes including health insurance, group life insurance, pensions and wellness initiatives.
• Monitor total rewards expenditures, analyse benefit usage trends and recommend cost‑efficient enhancements.
• Ensure total rewards programs comply with labour laws, statutory mandates and tax governance.
• Oversee monthly payroll calculations, deductions and timely disbursement for internal staff and outsourced accounts.
• Handle statutory compliance and remittances such as PAYE tax, Pension, NHF, NSITF and ITF, and maintain accurate filing records for audit readiness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• 1–3 years of experience in compensation and benefits, rewards management, HR analytics or financial analysis.
• Proven ability to work professionally with clients and respond promptly to payroll‑related requests.
• Strong attention to detail to review figures, employee information and payroll inputs before finalisation.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (financial modelling, VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
• Experience with HRIS total rewards modules.
