Heavy Equipment Engineer / Mechanic

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Engineer/Mechanic to join Choice Talents NG in Nigeria. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of heavy‑duty machinery to ensure reliable operation and minimal downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on trucks, tractors, bulldozers, excavators, wheel loaders, generators and other heavy equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and engine faults using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
• Execute corrective repairs, replace defective components and ensure all parts meet safety and technical standards.
• Repair or replace engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulic systems and other critical components.
• Conduct on‑site field repairs, equipment testing and keep accurate maintenance records.
• Identify root causes of failures and recommend effective solutions to extend equipment lifespan.

Required profile

• Diploma in Electro‑Mechanical Maintenance or a related field (preferred).
• Proven experience in construction or heavy‑equipment environments.
• Familiarity with diagnostic software and equipment.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and clear communication skills.
