About the role

The Head Teacher leads Cedar Crest International School in Abuja, shaping its vision, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving academic excellence. Reporting to the Board, the role blends strategic planning with day‑to‑day school management.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and communicate the school’s mission and vision.
• Develop realistic School Improvement Plans (SIP) and ensure compliance with educational regulations and local policies.
• Oversee curriculum implementation, set high academic standards, monitor student performance data and promote innovative teaching methods.
• Recruit, mentor, evaluate and support teachers and support staff; organise continuous professional development.
• Foster a collaborative, motivating work environment.
• Take ultimate responsibility for child protection policies, promote positive behaviour and address mental health and pastoral support needs.

Required profile

• Minimum NCE (Nigeria Certificate in Education) qualification.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in school leadership or teaching management.
• Mid‑level professional experience (approximately 36 months).
