Cybersecurity Instructor (Onsite Ikeja)

About the role

The Cybersecurity Instructor (Onsite Ikeja) is a contract role responsible for delivering high‑quality cybersecurity training to learners at IJAN Africa’s Ikeja location. The instructor prepares and updates course materials, teaches foundational and advanced concepts, and guides learners through hands‑on labs, simulations and projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and update course materials, lesson plans and lab exercises.
• Teach foundational and advanced cybersecurity concepts to beginner and intermediate learners.
• Guide learners through hands‑on labs, simulations and real‑world projects.
• Assess learner performance via assignments, quizzes and practical evaluations, providing constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with the academic team to align content with industry standards and participate in curriculum reviews.
• Occasionally contribute to workshops or information sessions that promote cybersecurity education.

Required profile

• Solid knowledge of core cybersecurity domains such as network security, application security, identity and access management, vulnerability assessment and incident response.
• Hands‑on experience with security tools and technologies including firewalls, SIEM platforms, endpoint protection, penetration testing tools, encryption and authentication mechanisms.
• Ability to design and deliver structured learning content (lesson plans, slides, labs, assessments) for beginner and intermediate audiences.
• Strong instructional, mentoring and classroom‑management skills with clear communication.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP) and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Demonstrated experience teaching cybersecurity in a training institution, bootcamp or corporate environment.
