Head of Sales and Business Development

About the role

The Bank is seeking an experienced sales leader to head its Sales and Business Development department in Lagos. You will be responsible for driving new business acquisition, strengthening customer relationships, and delivering revenue growth across multiple market segments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop weekly, monthly, annual and seasonal sales targets and monitor performance against them.
• Identify growth opportunities, launch at least one new market segment contributing 10% of total revenue, and create action plans to achieve KPIs.
• Lead sales activities in the assigned territory, ensuring targets are met and departmental vision and values are embedded in the culture.
• Design and execute marketing and campaign strategies to support sales goals.
• Develop customer retention programs, manage key accounts with relationship managers, and provide competitive intelligence and feedback.
• Produce regular reports on customer satisfaction, cross‑selling performance and other key indicators.
• Mentor and support the sales team, fostering professional development and performance improvement.
• Perform additional duties as directed by the CEO.

Required profile

• HND or BSc in Marketing from a reputable institution.
• 5–10 years of experience in sales and business development, preferably within the banking sector.
• Proven track record of leading a sales unit and meeting assigned targets.
• Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently under broad direction and produce statistical and narrative reports.
