Head of Projects (Construction)

About the role

The Head of Projects (Construction) will lead the construction division of Elizabeth Maddeux Limited, overseeing all project delivery, cost control, quality, and compliance. Reporting to senior management, the role ensures profitability and client satisfaction across large‑scale infrastructure initiatives in Nigeria.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and executive leadership for the construction portfolio.
• Drive project and programme delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets and quality standards are met.
• Lead commercial and cost management functions, including quantity surveying and P&L oversight.
• Manage government and institutional projects, handling procurement, tendering and contract negotiations.
• Ensure health, safety and regulatory compliance on all sites.
• Develop and mentor the project team, building capability and performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field.
• MBA or Master’s degree is a strong advantage.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, NIQS and COREN.
• Minimum 12 years of experience, with at least 3‑4 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record delivering multi‑billion‑naira projects and leading government‑backed initiatives.
