Head of Operations – Healthcare Clinics

About the role

Medclinics is looking for an experienced, commercially driven Head of Operations to lead its healthcare clinics and service centres in Lagos. The role covers operations strategy, budgeting, cost management, provider networks, supply chain, facilities, business development and service delivery, and reports to the Chief Operating Officer. It is full-time, on-site with flexibility as required by operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the establishment, launch and expansion of new clinics, and standardise processes and workflows across locations
• Manage healthcare providers: selection, credentialing, onboarding, performance monitoring and referral partnerships
• Oversee case coordination, emergency response, ambulance services and incident management
• Own operational P&L, pricing, cost control, budgeting and revenue growth
• Set service standards, SOPs, EMR and CRM use, facilities management and regulatory compliance
• Lead workforce planning, performance management and coaching of operational managers
• Drive business development, partnerships with corporates and insurers, and new service lines

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration or a related field; MBA, MPH or similar required
• Minimum 10 years of experience, including at least 5 in a senior operations or leadership role
• Proven experience managing multi-site healthcare operations and clinic establishment; P&L responsibility
• Strong knowledge of the Nigerian healthcare landscape; healthcare background is an advantage

Required skills

• P&L and budget management, multi-site operations and provider network management
• Lean Six Sigma, PMP or PRINCE2 and healthcare quality certifications are an advantage
