Head of Logistics

About the role

We are seeking a Head of Logistics to lead our national logistics function for a fast‑growing consumer business in Nigeria. You will be responsible for ensuring goods move efficiently across the distribution network while controlling costs, timelines and service levels.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end movement of goods across the distribution network, ensuring timely and cost‑effective delivery.
• Build a structured approach to transportation planning and vendor management.
• Strengthen relationships with transport partners and continuously improve cost and service terms.
• Expand logistics capacity by onboarding and managing external partners and securing warehousing solutions.
• Improve visibility, tracking and documentation of deliveries.
• Analyze logistics spend and performance, driving corrective actions and cost planning with finance.
• Introduce standardized processes and ensure consistent execution across regions.
• Drive improvements through technology, automation and data usage.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and coordinate with external authorities.
• Build and lead a high‑performing logistics team with clear accountability.

Required profile

• 10–15 years of experience in FMCG or logistics‑heavy environments.
• Strong background managing large‑scale transportation and distribution networks.
• Experience working with third‑party logistics providers and external vendors.
• Proven ability to manage costs, negotiate contracts and improve operational efficiency.
• Exposure to multi‑location or regional operations.
• Practical, execution‑focused problem‑solving approach.
