About the role

Dangote Cement Plc is looking for a Head of Investigation to lead and coordinate investigation activities across all cement plant operations in Nigeria. The role involves conducting complex fraud, misconduct, forensic and investigative audit cases while ensuring compliance with legal requirements, company policies and ethical standards. The successful candidate will act as a strategic leader protecting the company’s assets, reputation and operational integrity.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and conduct highly sensitive investigations involving fraud, misconduct, theft and policy violations.
  • Plan, coordinate and administer investigations in line with labor laws, legal requirements and the Dangote Cement Code of Conduct.
  • Gather, analyse and evaluate evidence, conduct interviews and prepare evidence‑based investigation reports for senior management.
  • Identify cost‑saving, recovery and operational improvement opportunities arising from investigative findings.
  • Develop recommendations to strengthen controls and mitigate current and future risks.
  • Maintain accurate, secure and auditable investigation records in compliance with data‑protection standards.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate investigations and implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor emerging fraud risks, cybersecurity threats and investigative best practices.
  • Mentor and develop investigation personnel, promoting professional standards.

Required profile

  • Strategic thinker with proven ability to uncover risks and drive corrective actions.
  • Influential leader demonstrating the highest standards of ethics, professionalism and accountability.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in fraud investigation, forensic investigation, investigative audits, risk management and compliance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, Criminology or related field.
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) required; membership in a recognised forensic or investigative professional body is highly desirable.
