Head of Commercial (MEP)

About the role

The Head of Commercial will lead the commercial function for an MEP engineering firm, driving profitability, risk management and business development across projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement commercial strategies to support revenue growth and cost control.
• Lead tender preparation, contract negotiation and commercial evaluation of proposals.
• Monitor project costing, budgets and margins, identifying savings and risk mitigation.
• Oversee contract variations, claims, valuations and cash‑flow management.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Quantity Surveying or Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a senior commercial management role within an MEP contracting firm.
• Proven experience in commercial management, contracts, tendering and cost control in engineering projects.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong financial modelling and commercial analysis capabilities.
• Experience with contract management and commercial documentation.
