Head of Automobile Workshop

About the role

The Head of Automobile Workshop will lead all workshop operations, ensuring efficient maintenance, repair, and availability of the company’s fleet and mechanical assets. This senior role requires strong leadership to optimise processes, control costs and uphold safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily workshop operations and supervise personnel.
• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programmes for vehicles and equipment.
• Ensure timely diagnosis, repair and servicing to maximise fleet availability.
• Oversee spare parts inventory and procurement planning.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Prepare budgets, maintenance reports and performance metrics.
• Coordinate with operations and logistics to ensure fleet readiness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years of automotive maintenance or fleet management experience, with 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of heavy‑duty trucks, diesel engines, hydraulic systems and automotive diagnostics.
• Proven ability to lead workshop teams and manage maintenance schedules.
• Understanding of fleet management systems, maintenance planning and inventory control.
