Head Chef

About the role

Express Agency is recruiting a Head Chef in Lagos (Marina) for a full-time position in food services and catering. The chef prepares meals according to the menu and client preferences, plans menus and keeps the kitchen running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to the menu and client preferences
• Plan menus and ensure variety and nutritional balance
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness in the kitchen
• Manage kitchen inventory, stock control and food storage
• Ensure timely preparation and presentation of meals
• Monitor food quality and taste
• Minimise wastage and control food cost
• Keep kitchen equipment clean and in good condition

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Chef, Cook or in a similar role
• Minimum of SSCE/OND/HND depending on the role level
• Ability to work without supervision
• Good communication and time management skills
• Neat, organised and passionate about cooking

Required skills

• Culinary training or relevant certification is an added advantage
• Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines (Continental, African, Intercontinental)
