Head Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a Head Accountant to lead our finance function within Kenex Konsults International’s construction projects in Marina, Anambra. The role involves overseeing all accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations and financial transactions.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
• Develop and monitor accounting procedures and internal financial controls.
• Prepare budgets, financial forecasts, and periodic management reports.
• Monitor cash flow, expenses, income, and overall financial performance.
• Ensure timely preparation and filing of tax returns and statutory obligations.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, providing required documentation.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate accounting staff.
• Liaise with banks, auditors, tax consultants, suppliers, and other financial stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience, including supervisory or managerial roles.
• Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, ANAN, or equivalent (highly desirable).
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, taxation, and internal controls.
• Good understanding of Nigerian tax and statutory requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
