General Manager

About the role

The General Manager will provide strategic leadership and oversee the overall operations, financial performance, and business growth of an assigned multi‑business entity in a North‑East or South‑East state of Nigeria. This senior role is responsible for driving revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the assigned multi‑business location.
• Develop and implement business plans to achieve growth and profitability targets.
• Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and service excellence.
• Lead, coach, and manage departmental and business unit heads and employees to meet performance objectives.
• Prepare and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and control costs.
• Identify business opportunities and implement initiatives to increase revenue and market share.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory regulations, and health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, regulators, and other stakeholders.
• Submit periodic operational and financial reports to executive management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline (MBA or professional certification is a plus).
• 8–10 years of progressive management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Strong business acumen, financial management, and strategic planning abilities.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision‑making skills.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary, multi‑business teams and deliver measurable results.
