About the role
We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and results‑oriented General Manager / Chief Operating Officer (GM/COO) to lead our Renewable Energy Division. The GM/COO will provide strategic and operational leadership, overseeing business development, sales, operations, project execution, customer experience, and financial performance.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute the strategic plan for the Renewable Energy Division to achieve growth and profitability.
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations, ensuring operational efficiency and service excellence.
- Drive business development initiatives, secure new clients, and strengthen relationships with key customers and strategic partners.
- Lead the sales function to meet revenue targets and expand market share in solar and inverter solutions.
- Manage successful execution of renewable energy projects, delivering on scope, budget, and timeline.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for cross‑functional teams across sales, engineering, operations, and customer service.
- Monitor financial performance, manage forecasts and budgets, and implement strategies to improve profitability.
- Identify market trends, emerging technologies, and new business opportunities to support innovation.
- Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction by maintaining high standards of quality and stakeholder engagement.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field (Master's degree is an advantage).
- 8–10 years of progressive leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management role within the renewable energy, solar, inverter, electrical engineering, or power sector.
- Proven success in business development, operations management, and strategic leadership.
- Strong understanding of Nigeria's renewable energy landscape, market dynamics, and regulatory environment.
- Experience managing large‑scale solar or inverter projects.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen.
- Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and decision‑making skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and business reporting tools.
