Freelance Field Support Specialist – On‑site IT Help

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Freelance Field Support Specialist to deliver on‑site technical assistance when full‑time engineers are unavailable or when dispatch activities require immediate attention. The role involves hands‑on support for desktops, laptops, peripherals, and meeting‑room technologies across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site IT support for desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices.
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software according to company standards.
• Perform IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) activities for IT assets.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including break‑fix support.
• Coordinate with OEMs and vendors for repairs, replacements, and escalations.
• Manage IT inventory, asset tracking, and documentation.
• Create system images for laptops and desktops.
• Support printer and network printer setup and troubleshooting.
• Assist with conference‑room AV setup and meeting‑room technologies.
• Provide high‑touch VIP/end‑user support and after‑hours assistance as needed.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of desktop and laptop troubleshooting and configuration.
• Hands‑on experience with hardware support and peripheral devices.
• Basic networking knowledge (DHCP, DNS, LAN connectivity).
• Experience with printer and network printer installation.
• Familiarity with Office 365 support and user account issues.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently.
