Food Services Supervisor

About the role

A full-time, non-management Food Services Supervisor is needed at the Raffia City Plaza hotel in Ikot Ekpene, Nigeria. The role ensures that staff work as a team to deliver optimum service and meet guest needs, and covers opening and closing duties, inventory, maintenance work orders and guest service. The position is open to Nigerian candidates only.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure staff work together as a team and meet guest needs; inspect staff grooming and attire and correct deficiencies
• Complete opening and closing duties, including setting up supplies and tools, cleaning equipment and areas, and locking doors
• Inspect storage areas for organization, FIFO use and cleanliness; complete scheduled inventories and requisition supplies
• Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service, safety and guest well-being
• Complete work orders for maintenance repairs and assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, counseling, discipline and coaching
• Act as first point of contact for the Open Door Policy and follow company safety and security policies, reporting accidents and unsafe conditions
• Welcome guests, anticipate their needs, assist people with disabilities and thank them sincerely
• Identify and implement improvements to efficiency, productivity, quality, safety and cost savings

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• At least 2 years of related work experience
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience
• No license or certification required

The job involves standing, sitting or walking for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, moving through narrow or elevated spaces and reading small print. The position is based at the hotel in Ikot Ekpene.
