Financial Crime Manager (Fintech/Payments)

About the role

The Financial Crime Manager will lead end‑to‑end fraud and AML detection operations for a fast‑growing fintech payments platform. Partnering with product and engineering, you will shape monitoring tools, drive risk outcomes and build a high‑performing team of specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve the product roadmap for monitoring, alerting and case‑management tools.
• Design, tune and maintain fraud and AML detection logic and scenarios.
• Oversee the operating model and performance of the Financial Crime Monitoring teams.
• Translate regulatory, partner and audit requirements into scalable detection systems.
• Use data and quantitative metrics to manage team capacity, performance and operational excellence.
• Lead, coach and develop specialists and first‑line managers.

Required profile

• 7+ years in financial crime roles within payments, fintech, banking or financial services.
• Proven experience building and optimizing risk detection systems (fraud, AML or similar).
• Deep understanding of financial crime typologies, AML/CTF regulations and sanctions.
• Strong systems‑thinking ability to create scalable monitoring frameworks.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, including team direction, coaching and performance management.
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• High ownership mindset and comfort operating in ambiguous, high‑growth environments.
