Financial Controller – Nigeria

About the role

The Financial Controller will lead the finance function for an energy‑focused organization operating in Nigeria. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, and compliance with local regulations and IFRS, while providing insights that support strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with IFRS.
• Lead the annual budgeting process, periodic forecasting and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian statutory requirements (FIRS, NUPRC/NMDPRA, NERC, CAC) and oversee tax filings (CIT, VAT, WHT, PAYE, Education Tax).
• Manage cash flow planning, liquidity, working capital, bank relationships and FX exposure.
• Supervise and develop the finance and accounting team and collaborate with operations, procurement and project teams.

Required profile

• Graduate or Master’s degree in Accounts & Finance or semi‑qualified CA/ICWAI/CMA.
• Minimum 5 + years of finance experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
• International exposure, especially experience in Africa, is preferred.
