Financial Accountant

About the role

Excelsa Consults is seeking a diligent Financial Accountant to join its finance team in Marina, Nigeria. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial records, managing reconciliations, payroll, and supporting statutory filings for a fast‑growing automotive and aviation services business.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily and weekly reconciliations of corporate bank accounts, POS terminals, direct transfers and cash collections.
• Reconcile sub‑ledgers, focusing on high‑value Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
• Match physical inventory counts of vehicles, generators, solar equipment and workshop parts with system records.
• Process monthly payroll, calculate PAYE, pensions and ensure timely remittance.
• Validate that all customer payments are linked to proper invoices or sales receipts.
• Maintain organized digital and physical filing for import, customs and supplier documents.
• Assist in preparing corporate income tax and education tax schedules and filings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Chartered member of ICAN or equivalent professional qualification (e.g., ACCA).
• 3–5 years of experience in accounting, payroll, reconciliations and regulatory filings.
• Experience in automotive dealerships, heavy‑machinery workshops or renewable‑energy companies is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP/Dealership Management Systems such as Odoo, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks Online or Sage.
• Advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables and SUMIFS.
• Ability to navigate national electronic tax portals.
• Knowledge of double‑entry bookkeeping, landed‑cost calculations and inventory valuation methods (FIFO, Weighted Average).
