Finance Specialist – Controllership (West Africa)

About the role

The Finance Specialist – Controllership will lead technical accounting compliance, internal controls and process simplification for Baker Hughes across West Africa. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, support the implementation of new accounting standards and drive controllership initiatives in line with both local statutory and US GAAP requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage general accounting processes including inventory, revenue recognition, receivables/payables and intercompany transactions.
• Interpret and apply Enterprise Standards, SOPs and Process Maps to deliver globally competitive financial services.
• Lead medium‑sized projects or act as a major contributor on larger initiatives, delivering results within 3‑6 months.
• Ensure controllership compliance, maintain internal controls and remediate SOX deficiencies.
• Collaborate with corporate functions to implement new accounting standards and controllership initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or Business.
• Minimum 7 years of finance experience, including at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Proven experience in a Finance Controllership function.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize and deliver in a fast‑moving environment.
