Finance Manager – Oil & Gas

About the role

The Finance Manager will lead the financial planning and reporting function for El‑Precious Consulting’s oil and gas operations. Reporting to senior management, you will ensure accurate budgeting, cash‑flow management and compliance with Nigerian fiscal regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare annual budgets, forecasts and long‑term financial plans aligned with upstream, midstream and downstream activities.
• Oversee timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS/GAAP.
• Monitor cash flow, liquidity and working capital to support continuous operations.
• Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable and treasury functions.
• Ensure compliance with the Petroleum Industry Act, tax obligations, royalties and other oil‑and‑gas levies.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and maintain statutory reporting.
• Develop and enforce internal controls, policies and procedures.
• Provide financial analysis and decision support for investments, cost optimisation and capital allocation.
• Manage relationships with banks, lenders and regulatory bodies.
• Oversee fixed‑asset accounting, depreciation schedules and capital‑expenditure tracking.
• Prepare reports for joint‑venture partners and PSC parties.
• Lead, mentor and evaluate the finance team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA or CFA (mandatory).
• 4–10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 4 years in the oil and gas sector.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, the Petroleum Industry Act and oil‑and‑gas fiscal regimes.
• Experience in manufacturing environments is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Tally, Oracle).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for financial modelling.
