Finance Lead - Fashion Brand

About the role

A fashion brand based in Lagos is looking for a Finance Lead through its recruiter partner. The ideal candidate is well versed in business finance and management and will oversee day-to-day financial operations, budgeting, reporting and inventory control.

Key responsibilities

• Manage controllable expenses and supplies within approved budgets to hit profitability targets, and track departmental expenditure and sales targets with marketing and operations.
• Create and distribute invoices accurately and on time, and manage financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems.
• Develop quarterly financial plans, analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions and sales results, and advise on investments and strategic actions.
• Oversee daily financial operations such as payroll and invoicing, and provide financial information and recommendations to managers.
• Conduct cost-reduction reviews, coordinate the statutory audit and ensure timely filing with FIRS and other regulators, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Work with operations and supply chain teams on inventory management: monitor stock levels, analyze turnover, optimize stock, run regular audits and reconcile discrepancies.
• Meet senior management regularly, act as their stand-in when required, and contribute to internal controls, process reviews, automation and digital transformation projects.
• Assist in implementing new accounting standards, preparing financial statements and handling ad-hoc financial requests.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 2-3 years of relevant experience in a management role; 1-2 years of hands-on Odoo ERP experience preferred.
• Proven management experience, strong accounting and analytical skills, and high integrity.
• Leadership, communication and collaboration abilities, ability to work under pressure, and strong organizational skills.
• Preferred: interest or experience in clothing retail (women's wear), B2B operations (wholesale, dropshipping, consignment), and familiarity with Shopify.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS or GAAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Hands-on experience with Odoo accounting and finance, including configuring and customizing the Odoo Accounting module (v14+), and modules for Invoicing, Inventory, Sales and Purchasing.
• Experience with Odoo data migration, reporting and dashboard creation.
