Finance Assistant

About the role

The Finance Assistant will provide efficient and accurate financial and administrative support to Rendeavour Education, with a focus on the pre‑opening of Wellington College International Lagos. The role ensures smooth processing of transactions, proper record‑keeping, and compliance with financial policies.

Key responsibilities

• Process purchase orders, invoices and payments in line with school procedures.
• Record income, expenditure and petty‑cash transactions accurately.
• Assist in reconciling bank statements and maintaining finance databases.
• Support the Director of Education in budget monitoring, expenditure tracking and reporting.
• Prepare and input payroll information, manage staff expenses and maintain staff finance records.
• Record and reconcile school income streams such as meals, trips, lettings, donations and fees.
• Maintain and improve financial systems, software and digital tools.
• Ensure compliance with governance handbooks, statutory requirements and safeguarding policies.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in finance, accounts or administration.
• Strong numeracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
