Financial Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team in Nigeria. The role focuses on project accounting for consulting and contracting firms, especially those funded by donors, and requires strong expertise in financial reporting and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage project accounting for consulting/contracting firm projects.
• Draft comprehensive financing proposals for donor‑funded projects.
• Prepare accurate and timely audited financial statements.
• Develop and submit contract bidding documentation in line with industry standards.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure financial processes meet regulatory requirements.
• Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to support growth and compliance.
• Secure all statutory regulatory documentation, including Tax Clearance, PENCOM, NSITF, ITF and PBE certificates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Chartered Accountant qualification (ICAN, ACCA or equivalent).
• Proven experience in project accounting within consulting/contracting firms.
• Strong understanding of donor‑funded project financial management.
• Experience preparing contract bidding documentation and obtaining statutory compliance certificates.
• Excellent analytical, communication and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
