Finance Account Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Finance Account Manager to lead our accounting function in Lagos, ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting strategic decisions within the Energy & Utilities sector.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, guaranteeing timely processing of transactions in line with company policies and accounting standards.
• Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements to aid management decision‑making.
• Manage budgeting and forecasting, monitor performance against budgets and recommend cost‑control measures.
• Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger activities, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax requirements and organisational policies.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, prepare documentation and implement audit recommendations.
• Monitor cash flow, treasury activities and fixed‑asset management to optimise resource utilisation.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
• Professional certification such as CA or ACA preferred.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management.
• Strong background in budgeting, financial reporting and audit processes.

Required skills

• Proficiency in QuickBooks.
• Experience with SAP.
• Knowledge of Oracle Financials.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Ability to build financial models and use financial modelling tools.
