Field/Technical Engineer - Fiber Optic Network

About the role

The Field/Technical Engineer is a key part of Verse Telecom's operations, responsible for deploying, maintaining and troubleshooting the company's fiber optic internet infrastructure and end-user connections. The role covers the physical and technical side of service delivery and aims to ensure high-quality network performance and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy and configure fiber internet services together with the required network hardware.
• Carry out fiber cabling work, including laying, splicing, terminating and validating connections.
• Diagnose and fix network disruptions and connectivity issues quickly.
• Perform scheduled maintenance checks and inspections of network assets.
• Resolve technical incidents and service requests raised by customers.
• Set up and manage customer premises equipment such as ONTs, routers and OLTs.
• Track network efficiency metrics to spot and prevent potential failures.
• Survey potential installation sites to plan new deployments.
• Keep accurate records of installations, repairs and inventory use.
• Refer complex technical problems to specialist teams and follow safety protocols and organisational guidelines.
