Field Support Officer

About the role

The Field Support Officer will deploy, install and configure POS terminals at merchant locations across Lagos Island. You will provide on‑site technical assistance, ensure devices operate optimally and build strong relationships with merchants.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy, install and configure POS terminals at merchant sites.
• Provide on‑site technical support and resolve terminal‑related issues promptly.
• Conduct routine visits to monitor device performance and maintain inventory.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software and basic network connectivity problems.
• Replace faulty terminals and manage inventory within the assigned territory.
• Train merchants on proper use and maintenance of POS terminals.
• Document installations, maintenance activities and merchant visits.
• Escalate complex issues to appropriate support teams.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly activity reports.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in Computer Science, IT, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
• 1–2 years experience in technical support, field operations or POS support.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software and networking.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments and travel extensively.
• Valid driver’s licence; motorcycle riding ability is an advantage.
