Engineering Manager – Site Reliability

About the role

As an Engineering Manager, you will drive successful delivery and execution of projects within your teams. You will manage end‑to‑end technical planning, ensuring product requirements are translated into actionable tasks while collaborating with engineers, product managers, QA and UX.

Key responsibilities

• Own delivery and execution within the Site Reliability Engineering tooling team.
• Evaluate product requirements for feasibility, translate them into EPICs and technical stories.
• Plan and organize sprints with clear goals, timelines, milestones and task dependencies.
• Track team velocity, allocate resources effectively and balance bandwidth with demand.
• Coordinate alignment and manage dependencies across multiple stakeholders to prevent bottlenecks.
• Contribute to critical projects, ensuring proper design patterns and coding techniques.
• Participate in code reviews to uphold high‑quality standards.
• Ensure monitoring and observability for owned services, meeting defined SLIs/SLOs.
• Partner with Product Managers to track and publish post‑deployment product metrics.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience as a Software Developer, Engineer or similar role.
• 5+ years of Node.js and Python experience.
• At least 3 years of leadership/people‑management experience.
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies, sprint planning and backlog management.
• Proven ability to break down complex product requirements into EPICs, Stories and Tasks.
• Solid experience with backend technologies; frontend experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with project planning tools for visualising delivery timelines.
• Experience with engineering metrics and monitoring tools to assess team and product health.
• Capability to debug complex incidents and run blameless RCA sessions.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and related metrics.
