Embedded / IoT Engineer

About the role

Lunova Energy Ltd is seeking an Embedded / IoT Engineer to design, develop and maintain the firmware and hardware that power its smart solar and metering solutions. The role is full‑time and hybrid, based in Lagos, and will involve close collaboration with product, hardware and cloud teams to deliver reliable, secure connected devices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and debug firmware for embedded devices using Python and C.
• Integrate RS485/Modbus, CAN bus and 4G cellular modules (e.g., Quectel, SIM7600) into hardware designs.
• Design and layout PCBs using tools such as KiCad, Altium or Eagle.
• Implement MQTT and other cloud IoT protocols for data acquisition, monitoring and control.
• Test and validate hardware‑software integration, ensuring robust performance in field conditions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to refine product requirements and improve system reliability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
• Proven experience delivering at least one live product to market.
• Portfolio or GitHub repository demonstrating relevant projects.
• Based in Lagos or willing to work on‑site in Lagos.
• Experience in renewable energy or smart metering is an advantage.
