Email Marketing Manager (Volunteer)

About the role

The Email Marketing Manager will lead TEDxMaitama’s email communication strategy, driving ticket sales, volunteer recruitment, sponsor engagement and post‑event community growth. Working remotely, you will design end‑to‑end email journeys that turn subscribers into active participants and supporters of the TEDx brand. You will collaborate with the marketing, sponsorship and ticketing teams to ensure consistent brand messaging across all touchpoints.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the overall email marketing strategy and calendar.
• Design and launch campaigns for ticket sales, event announcements, speaker reveals, volunteer recruitment and sponsorship outreach.
• Build and optimise automated workflows such as welcome series, abandoned‑ticket recovery, event reminders and post‑event nurturing.
• Segment audiences by behaviour, interests, ticket type and stakeholder role to deliver personalised content.
• Write compelling subject lines and copy, collaborating with designers for visually engaging emails.
• Monitor performance metrics (open, click‑through, conversion, bounce, unsubscribe, revenue) and conduct A/B testing.
• Produce weekly performance reports with actionable recommendations.
• Maintain the email platform, subscriber lists and ensure compliance with data regulations.

Required profile

• Data‑driven and highly organised with a creative mindset.
• Proven experience managing email marketing campaigns for events or similar initiatives.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to translate metrics into optimisation actions.
• Excellent written communication aligned with TEDx’s storytelling voice.
• Experience with integrating email workflows with CRM and landing page tools is a plus.
