ELV / Smart Building Technologist

About the role

Ujax Engineering is seeking an ELV / Smart Building Technologist to join its technical team. You will work on‑site installing, configuring and maintaining ELV and smart‑building systems for residential, commercial and hospitality projects, ensuring clean and reliable installations.

Key responsibilities

• Install and maintain ELV systems such as CCTV, access control, fire alarm, public address and networking.
• Carry out smart‑home and building‑automation installations (lighting, smart switches, motorised curtains, sensors, etc.).
• Install and terminate structured cabling (CAT6, fibre) and organise rack layouts.
• Configure and test devices to verify functionality before handover.
• Read drawings and site plans, follow project instructions and maintain accurate documentation.
• Troubleshoot faults and resolve issues during and after installation.
• Collaborate with engineers and other technicians on‑site.
• Maintain organised tools, materials and work areas.
• Support system handover and provide basic client guidance.

Required profile

• HND, BA/BSc or equivalent in Electrical, Electronics, ICT or related field.
• 2‑5 years of practical experience with ELV or smart‑building systems.
• Basic understanding of networking, IP devices and power systems.
• Ability to use installation tools and testing equipment.
• Willingness to learn and grow in smart automation technologies.
• Strong teamwork attitude, honesty and ability to meet project deadlines.
