Senior Quantity Surveyor – Construction Projects

About the role

Elizabeth Maddeux Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to oversee cost management on construction projects in Ikeja, Lagos. You will ensure projects are delivered within budget, schedule, and quality standards while providing expert advice on procurement and risk.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities and tender documents.
• Submit tenders, participate in bidding and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Manage project budgets, forecast costs and monitor financial performance.
• Maintain accurate financial records for all project transactions.
• Perform quantity take‑offs from RCP and marking drawings and resolve gaps between BOQ and design documents.
• Coordinate with design teams to analyse architectural and MEP drawings.
• Handle work valuations, claims and variations with contractors and consultants.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to optimise project outcomes and ensure financial viability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of quantity surveying experience on residential and commercial projects.
• Professional certification or membership in a recognised quantity surveying body.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental standards.
• Proficiency with quantity take‑off tools, BIM and surveying software.

Required skills

• Advanced understanding of construction practices, codes and regulatory standards.
• Knowledge of the National Building Code (NBC), ANSI/ASHRAE and LEED standards.
• Proficiency in interpreting AutoCAD drawings and validating quantities.
• Experience with BIM, quantity take‑off tools and surveying software.
