Electronics Maintenance Technician

About the role

Primote Africa is seeking an Electronics Maintenance Technician to support its continuous production line in Lagos. The role involves troubleshooting, programming, and maintaining PLC‑based automation systems, HMIs, and industrial sensor networks.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, program, and maintain PLC‑based automation systems, HMIs, and complex industrial sensor networks across the continuous production line.
• Repair and service circuit boards, power supplies, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and precision electronic measurement equipment.
• Respond rapidly to line stoppages, performing root‑cause analysis and swift electrical/electronic repairs to maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Execute scheduled inspections, calibration, and servicing of electrical panels, instrumentation, and 3‑phase machinery.
• Implement rigorous safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols and electrical safety guidelines.

Required profile

• Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
• 2‑4 years of hands‑on experience in electrical and electronic troubleshooting within a continuous process, heavy manufacturing, or automated factory environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PLC platforms such as Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, or Omron.
• Experience in industrial networking and reading complex electrical/electronic schematics.
• Knowledge of low/medium voltage power distribution, servo motors, and instrumentation.
• Ability to repair circuit boards, power supplies, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
• Familiarity with Human‑Machine Interfaces (HMIs) and precision electronic measurement equipment.
