Electrical Technician

About the role

The Electrical Technician is responsible for maintaining plant safety, performing corrective actions, and ensuring reliable operation of engines and auxiliary equipment. The role involves troubleshooting electrical panels, measuring system parameters, and supporting emergency procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the plant in a clean and safe condition, following isolation, lock‑out and tag‑out procedures.
• Identify, repair, and replace components in electric panels, such as contacts, transformers, and fuses.
• Execute readings of pressure, temperature, and electrical parameters using appropriate measurement equipment.
• Start and stop lubricating oil and HFO separators, and monitor alarm panels without supervision.
• Document abnormalities, create trend graphs, and report findings to supervisors.

Required profile

• Ability to work safely and economically during plant operations.
• Knowledge of engine components (injection pumps, cylinders, gear trains, emergency stops).
• Familiarity with MV/HV room equipment and KV substation installations.
• Capability to follow emergency procedures and safety regulations.

Required skills

• Use of digital and analogue multimeters, frequency meters, electric capacity meters, DC sources, and oscilloscopes.
• Reading and interpreting pressure gauges, manometers, thermometers, and digital panels.
• Repair of electrical panels, including component substitution and defect identification.
• Execution of lock‑out/tag‑out safety protocols.
