Electrical Technician - Herbicide Processing & Filling Lines

About the role

The Electrical Technician ensures that the production operation runs as planned by providing engineering supervision and support on processing, packaging and utilities. The role keeps equipment and machinery performing to specified standards so that daily manufacturing volume targets are met on time, with optimized resources and the right quality. The position is based near Magboro or Mountain of Fire Church, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and drive maintenance of herbicide formulation and filling line machines and equipment
• Take responsibility for utility operations, ensuring smooth running and efficient performance
• Use troubleshooting, mechanical, electrical and general engineering skills to operate, monitor, maintain, report and sustain onsite utilities
• Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness of equipment and workplace, and ensure documentation is complete and followed by technical teams
• Track, record, analyse and schedule routine maintenance and repairs in line with TPM and WCM standards
• Install, maintain and repair electrical control, wiring and lighting systems; read and interpret electrical and electronic circuit diagrams and schematics
• Work with minimum supervision, with attention to detail and accountability for assigned work

Required profile

• Minimum HND (Upper Credit) in Electrical, Instrumentation/Automation, Industrial Engineering or a related field
• At least 3-5 years of related experience in FMCG or processing and filling line operations; prior experience in a herbicide processing or packaging plant is an advantage
• Age requirement: 28-35 years
• Good oral and written communication, teamwork, problem-solving and creativity

Required skills

• PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) knowledge is mandatory
• Basic electrical knowledge and troubleshooting, and hydraulic/pneumatic troubleshooting experience
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, extraction/ventilation and fire suppression systems
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
