Editorial Assistant

About the role

We are seeking an Editorial Assistant to support our editorial and publishing operations, ensuring manuscripts move efficiently through the production process. The role combines editing, proofreading, and administrative tasks in a fast‑paced, project‑heavy environment.

Key responsibilities

• Edit and proofread manuscripts and other publishing materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency, and adherence to editorial standards.
• Prepare editorial notes, comments, and feedback for authors and editors, and support editors in preparing manuscripts for production.
• Maintain accurate records of manuscripts, authors, editorial stages, deadlines, and project status, updating trackers regularly.
• Assist with fact‑checking, basic research, and proofreading of book covers and promotional materials.
• Provide general administrative support to the editorial and operations team, following up on outstanding tasks and approvals.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience in editing, publishing, content development, or a related field.
• Excellent command of written English with strong grammar, punctuation, and proofreading skills.
• Strong attention to detail, high accuracy, and ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a small team.
• Willingness to learn new tools, systems, and publishing processes while maintaining confidentiality.

Required skills

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Good working knowledge of Google Workspace.
