E-Business Control Specialist

About the role

Moniepoint Inc., Africa's all-in-one financial platform and Nigeria's largest merchant acquirer, is hiring an E-Business Control Specialist in its Internal Control department, reporting to the Lead, E-Business Control. The role oversees and validates internal controls across digital payment platforms, electronic channels and transaction processing systems, ensuring they mitigate operational, digital transaction and settlement risks. It covers transaction flows, API integrations and payment channel reconciliations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and run control testing programmes covering loans, POS, web, mobile and API channels
• Design and monitor daily reconciliation and control processes for loans, card switching platforms, payment gateways and third-party processors
• Perform continuous risk assessments on payment, loan, chargeback and dispute resolution workflows
• Evaluate revenue assurance controls, including fee configurations, commission splits and automated ledger postings
• Review merchant settlement, transaction staging and clearing suspense accounts
• Assess IT application controls, authorization logic and parameter settings
• Work with Product, Technology and Operations teams to embed controls in new digital products
• Maintain control deficiency dashboards and conduct regular audits of access rights, privileged users and transaction limits
• Monitor compliance with payment standards and regulatory guidelines, and perform root cause analysis on control failures and settlement discrepancies

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Management, Finance or a related field
• CISA, CRISC, CISM, ACA, ACCA or similar professional credentials
• 4-6 years of experience in internal control, digital channel auditing, e-business control or revenue assurance in fintech, switching or commercial banking
• Knowledge of COSO, ISO 31000 and relevant IFRS standards
