Deputy Engineer - Electrical Maintenance

About the role

Dangote Industries Limited is looking for a Deputy Engineer for electrical maintenance at its Ibese Plant. The role provides maintenance support to the production sections so that equipment stays available and downtime is kept low.

Key responsibilities

• Install, test, operate and maintain electrical equipment with optimum quality and safety, keeping the assigned area running trouble-free.
• Manage spare parts to keep plant operations smooth.
• Assign daily tasks and give technical guidance to subordinates, and train them.
• Ensure safety measures are followed and the work area is kept tidy.
• Complete work orders on time, with quality and safety.
• Prepare reports and documentation such as power reports, maintenance checklists and daily job reports.
• Maintain and service circuit breakers, transformers, MCCs, PCCs, MV and LV switchboards, battery chargers, plant lighting and earthing systems, HT/LT motors, VFDs, HT/LT cables and air conditioning systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 6 years of relevant experience after qualification.
• Good knowledge of cement products and cement manufacturing processes.

Required skills

• Low, medium and high voltage systems, transformers, substations, generators, cables and cable termination, and electrical/electronic diagrams.
• AC/DC drives, battery chargers and air conditioning systems.
• Predictive inspection tools and CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System).
• Safety legislation, ISO 9000 standards and TPM.
