Credit Risk Analyst

About the role

CredPal, a fintech company offering credit cards and investment solutions, is looking for an experienced Credit Risk Analyst (full time, hybrid, mid-level) to assess, monitor and mitigate credit risks. The role covers detailed credit evaluations, risk modelling and insights that support strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate clients' credit data, financial statements and credit reports to determine lending risks and creditworthiness.
• Assess credit applicants against established guidelines and recommend payment plans, credit terms, interest rates and collateral.
• Monitor existing borrowers' credit profiles, track changes in risk and prepare regular credit performance reports.
• Work with sales and other departments to manage financial orders, control credit exposure and resolve disputes.
• Verify the accuracy and completeness of credit applications and ensure compliance with credit policies and regulations.
• Recommend ways to reduce credit exposure and improve portfolio quality, and contribute to risk management practices.
• Provide data-driven insights and stay informed on industry trends and emerging risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Statistics or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in credit risk analysis or similar roles, preferably in financial services or fintech.
• Knowledge of credit risk models, credit scoring systems and credit portfolio management.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and credit risk best practices.

Required skills

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills; data analysis tools such as Excel and SQL.
• Excellent understanding of financial statements and credit risk metrics.
• Proficiency in risk management software is an advantage.
