Country Operations Head

About the role

VAS Global Services is looking for an experienced Country Operations Head to lead its Visa Application Centre (VAC) network across Nigeria. You will be responsible for operational excellence, regulatory compliance and building strong relationships with diplomatic missions and business partners.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all VAC operations nationwide, ensuring service standards, quality, turnaround times and operational targets are met.
• Manage financial performance, including revenue, costs, budgets and productivity, in coordination with the Country Finance Head.
• Lead, develop and manage Centre Operations Heads, handling workforce planning, performance management and succession planning.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, quality standards, client requirements and local regulations.
• Maintain physical and information security controls, manage operational risks and oversee incident reporting.
• Build and maintain relationships with diplomatic missions, consulates, government authorities and business partners.
• Drive customer experience, service quality, operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
• Identify and develop value‑added services and new revenue streams.
• Support the opening of new VACs, ensuring operational readiness and staffing.
• Monitor performance through KPIs and management reporting, taking corrective action as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Hospitality Management or related field; postgraduate qualification is a plus.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in visa services, BPO, travel, hospitality or similar customer‑facing industry.
• At least 5 years in a senior leadership role with responsibility for operational teams and business performance.
• Proven experience managing multi‑site operations across a country.
• Strong background in budget management, cost control, revenue performance and operational planning.
• Excellent stakeholder management with government authorities, diplomatic missions and corporate clients.
• Demonstrated ability to implement operational processes, service standards, compliance controls and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Fluent in English with strong communication skills; ability to engage local stakeholders in Nigeria.
• Willingness to travel regularly to VACs across Nigeria.
