Cosmetic Scientist

About the role

Peopleplus NG is seeking a Cosmetic Scientist to lead research and development of innovative skincare products. The role involves translating emerging ingredient insights into market‑ready formulations while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Research emerging cosmetic ingredients, raw materials and formulation trends, evaluating their functionality and safety.
• Develop and optimise skincare product formulations from concept through laboratory trials to commercial scale.
• Conduct stability, compatibility and performance testing, and troubleshoot formulation or quality issues.
• Ensure all formulations meet Nigerian and international cosmetic regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain detailed technical records, laboratory notes and product specifications.
• Collaborate with production, quality, medical and supplier teams to support product launch and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacy or related field.
• Minimum three years of hands‑on experience in cosmetic formulation and skincare product development.
• Strong knowledge of cosmetic ingredients, raw materials and formulation techniques.
• Good understanding of cosmetic safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet development timelines.
