Control Field Specialist – Turbomachinery & Process Equipment

About the role

Join Baker Hughes Industrial & Energy Technology (IET) to lead technical direction and safe site leadership for on‑site installation, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, commissioning and startup of turbo‑machinery and process equipment. You will work across global projects, providing complex control solutions and ensuring equipment reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Commission control panels, perform logic modifications, loop and functional checks, and certify panels.
• Supervise troubleshooting, commissioning and startup of rotating equipment (HDGT, Aero GT, compressors) related to control engineering.
• Interface directly with BH Engineering on reliability, operations, maintenance and failure analysis.
• Coordinate field site work, ensure quality service, and maintain detailed activity records.
• Oversee overhaul, repair, and preparation of equipment for subsequent jobs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering or related field (preferred).
• Minimum 8 years experience in turbomachinery control systems and field instrumentation.
• Willingness to travel up to 70 % of the time.
• Strong functional, technical, customer‑focus, communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Experience with GE/Baker Hughes control platforms: MKV, MKVI, MKVIe, Rx3i, GE Fanuc.
• Commissioning and startup of turbomachinery using Speedtronics control systems.
• Control panel commissioning, logic modification, loop & functional checks.
• Field instrumentation for heavy‑duty gas turbines, aeroderivative turbines and centrifugal compressors.
