Contract Management Specialist

About the role

Dangote Industries Limited is looking for a Contract Management Specialist in Lagos. The role provides legal and commercial support focused on drafting, reviewing, negotiating and managing contracts so that all contractual arrangements meet the company's strategic objectives, regulatory requirements and risk management framework.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts such as NDAs, sales and purchase agreements, subcontracts, consulting and licensing agreements.
• Act as the main point of contact for contract matters and facilitate resolution of contractual issues.
• Provide redlined recommendations and lead negotiations to commercially acceptable outcomes.
• Maintain accurate contract records, keeping them traceable and audit-ready.
• Advise project managers and operational teams on contract interpretation and obligations.
• Help develop contract management procedures and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Review documents such as bank guarantees and support enforcement documentation where needed.
• Monitor contract performance, manage renewals, amendments and close-outs, and report on performance, risks and status to the Contract Management Lead.
• Support the Contract Management Lead, Company Secretary and General Counsel with legal matters and advice.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.), Barrister-at-Law (B.L.) and qualification to practice in Nigeria.
• Nigerian Bar Association membership is required; an LL.M or corporate law certification is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 8 years' post-qualification legal experience, including at least 5 years drafting, reviewing and managing commercial contracts.
• Experience in a top-tier law firm or multinational is preferred.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of contract law, corporate governance and regulatory frameworks.
• Expertise in drafting, reviewing, negotiating and interpreting commercial contracts.
• Knowledge of industry regulations, especially in manufacturing or oil and gas.
• Understanding of procurement, internal controls, risk allocation and dispute resolution.
