Consultant Neurologist

About the role

Dukes Neurosurgery and Specialist Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Consultant Neurologist to join its multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will deliver expert neurological care to a diverse patient population and collaborate closely with neurosurgeons and other specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct inpatient, outpatient and emergency neurological consultations covering epilepsy, stroke, neurodegenerative diseases, headache disorders, neuromuscular and movement disorders, and CNS infections.
• Collaborate with consultants in neurosurgery, internal medicine, radiology, psychiatry and other disciplines for complex case management.
• Supervise and interpret neuro‑diagnostic investigations including EEG, EMG, nerve conduction studies, neuroimaging and lumbar puncture procedures.
• Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, ward rounds and clinical conferences.
• Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to residents, medical officers and junior staff.
• Contribute to research and clinical audit programmes, preparing and publishing case studies and findings.
• Participate in continuing medical education activities and external conferences.
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient confidentiality and ethical standards.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
• Fellowship in Neurology (FWACP or FMCP).
• Current valid practicing licence.
• Minimum one year post‑fellowship clinical experience as a Neurologist.
• Proven expertise in neurological examination, diagnosis and management of a wide range of disorders.
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary clinical team is preferred.
