Construction Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Laiedon Innovations is seeking a Construction Mechanical Engineer to design, review and coordinate mechanical systems for building projects in Port Harcourt and the wider Rivers State area.

Key responsibilities

• Design, review and coordinate mechanical drawings, schematics, equipment schedules and shop drawings for building projects.
• Supervise and inspect mechanical installations on site, ensuring compliance with approved designs, codes and safety requirements.
• Monitor contractors and subcontractors to guarantee quality, programme and technical standards are met.
• Support testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and resolution of mechanical issues throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years (48 months) experience in mechanical engineering within construction, real‑estate development or building services.
• Knowledge of Nigerian building, engineering, health and safety standards.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, ventilation, pumps, water systems and fire protection.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar engineering/facilities‑management software.
• Problem‑solving, communication and project coordination abilities.
