Construction Electrical Engineer

About the role

Laiedon Innovations is seeking a Construction Electrical Engineer to lead the design, coordination and supervision of electrical systems for building projects in Port Harcourt and the wider Rivers State region. The role involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high‑quality, compliant electrical installations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, review and coordinate electrical systems, including power distribution and lighting, for building projects.
• Review electrical drawings, schematics, load schedules, specifications, shop drawings and technical submissions.
• Supervise and inspect electrical installations on construction sites, ensuring compliance with approved designs, codes and safety requirements.
• Coordinate electrical works with architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing and other building services.
• Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure quality, programme and technical standards are met.
• Support testing, troubleshooting and resolution of electrical issues throughout projects.
• Provide technical input into material selection, procurement, cost estimates, variations and bills of quantities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in electrical engineering, preferably within construction, real estate development or building services.
• Proven experience supervising and coordinating electrical works on construction sites.
• Strong knowledge of building electrical systems, power distribution, lighting and related systems.
• Ability to read, interpret and coordinate electrical drawings, specifications and technical documentation.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Revit MEP.
• Familiarity with electrical design and calculation software.
• Knowledge of relevant electrical standards, construction practices and health and safety requirements.
