Commercial Manager

About the role

The Commercial Manager will lead the commercial function for APM Terminals' Eastern Region terminal in Onne, Nigeria. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this role is a key member of the Terminal Leadership Team and works closely with the Terminal Managing Director and regional leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic commercial direction for the Onne terminal and oversee day‑to‑day commercial activities.
• Lead a team of four direct reports, ensuring alignment with regional and global commercial objectives.
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers, shipping lines, landside cargo owners, and relevant authorities.
• Collaborate with the Terminal Managing Director and other functional heads to drive business results.
• Share best practices and business opportunities across the regional and global commercial community.
• Travel regularly across the region to maintain visibility and stakeholder engagement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in commercial management within logistics, port, or container terminal environments.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a small team.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
• Ability to work on‑site in Onne and travel as needed.
